Are you a regularly menstruating adult who wants to participate in research on menstrual health? Do you want to learn what it’s like to collect menstrual fluid for science? Do you have experience using tampons, discs, or cups? Then this study is for you!
We are currently recruiting research participants who menstruate regularly and are interested in contributing to research focused on reproductive health.
Please review the information below to see if this study makes sense for you.
You may be a good fit if:
- Aged 18-45
- Not taking hormonal contraceptives
- No acute illness
- No known endometrial conditions
- Experience using a tampon, disc, or cup
- Willing to use a menstrual cup
This study has two components.
Component one
- After initiating interest and contact, a confidential interview is arranged to provide detailed information about the study and its process.
- After the initial confidential interview, we will proceed with obtaining informed consent, which will allow us to commence component two.
- Time to complete: Approximately one hour
Component two
- We will reach out to you for a follow-up on the first day of your cycle.
- Time to complete: Approximately 20 minutes
- The collection of menstrual fluid will be passive, allowing time to collect it.
- Time to complete: Approximately 4-12 hours
- After collection, we will set up a time to pick up the materials
- Time to complete: Approximately five minutes
Materials provided: 1-2 menstrual cups, with manufacturer’s instructions, and a reusable menstrual cup sanitizer
A $75 Visa gift card will be provided for your time after the collection of materials.
